We finally were well enough to get Kinsley MMR0 vaccine to start her protection against the bloody measles yay! She took it like a champ when the needle went in her arm she gave the nurse the worse case of side eye and then looked at me and reached for bunny once it was done. Not ONE SINGLE TEAR honestly this little gal has such a high pain tolerance! It takes a couple of weeks for protection to kick in so didn't keep her safe for the wedding but felt good to start the process so it can settle into her body before daycare etc. Its now been nearly 2 weeks and honestly its a nice vaccine compared to others she was slightly grizzly but thats it! I loved escaping to mum and dads and not worrying about where I take her and I think it was perfect timing as we had been going crazy being on house arrest in Auckland! I can't wait for her to get her 12M one and be all ok!👏🏻
#happilyeverowen MY BABY SISTER GOT MARRIED!! Its official aunty Jess is a wifey 👰🏼🤵🏼
It was the most beautiful day watching them tie the knot in-front of family & friends in Ohakune. And best of all I got to stand by my beautiful sisters side, Kinsley got to be the littlest flower girl and we spent the whole week with our family and friends and a stunning week it was! Jess and Jay had everything planned out to perfection and the weather was stunning - They did first look up the mountain in the beautiful snow and then tied the knot at the Matterhorn. The lead up to the day was so relaxed and fun just like my sister hehe, for me it got a little stressful when Kinsley decided to skip her lunch nap and had been awake since 10:30am eeeek! I was so worried she would lose her shit when we walked down the aisle but she was PERFECT, the she sat on her little sheepskin with her bunny and looked around smiling 😍 Then towards the end of the ceremony she started to fall asleep in Omas arms (adorable) so uncle Rob took her for a walk in the pram while we popped the bubbles! She woke in perfect time for photos and was smiling, laughing and posing away haha couldn't have been more perfect! She was really good at the venue too and people got cuddles and their cute baby fix haha just once it chilled down and we were inside the hum of everyones voices gets a bit much so she went home with Oma ❤ Me and Nic were surprised by mum and nana with a room at the powderhorn so we could party and sleep in IT WAS BLISS! The perfect week and I can't wait to see the proper photos - Congrats Mr & Mrs Owen x
We got over one round of sickness had a few weeks free then BOOM its back. I suppose its inevitable when so many people around you are sick but god I can't wait for winter and its bugs to F*** right off👋🏻. Poor Kinsley was so out of sorts late last week running a massive fever and just not settled and we ended up in Tamaranui hospital (closest to mum and dads) on Saturday night and turns out the poor wee thing has pussy tonsillitis and inflamed ears from that so we are now on our first ever round of antibiotics to get her better. I didn't really want to introduce her little body to medicine this early in life but she could barely swallow, eat and it was causing her body to be so unwell so I didn't hesitate. 😭 (For any other new mamas who get offered antibiotics don't stress to much you do what you think is right and just question the doctor to see if they really think its necessary). It was so horrible to see Kinsley screaming and literally not being able to be calmed down (this never happens) and I am so thankful for Nic is these situations - He is the calm one who stays by K calming her and knows that I need to drive to focus and not worry. Its little things like that that make us such a good team! Oh and to add to a difficult time Kinsley also has cut her first top tooth (next to the front ones) and has another 3 top ones super close to cutting and some bottom ones rising to the surface haha - When it rains it pours right? Its going to be so weird seeing her with more teeth, its like a new little person each time hehe!
The CUTEST development this month is that K says Oma and omg I die its in the same tone as us but she gets the M confused with an N so it comes out Ohhhhhna 😍😭 Being of dutch heritage Oma & Opa sing a clapping song with actions to Kinsley and she now does them (trys to) herself when we start singing, its adorbale as its in the wrong order but you can see her putting it all together - Hands on head, finger pointing, clapping and a tummy tickle haha! She will have it sussed in no time! (Mama and Dadda are no help as we only know pieces too ooops ha!) 😋
Well the next couple of weeks are preparing for daycare and my return to work eeeek!
So wish me luck!

Tips for the week:
- If your babe loves bathtime as much as mine then you will always be looking for ways to keep it fun. This last couple of weeks we have been having a different colour of bath water everyday. I pop her in and wash first then add 2-3 drops of liquid food colouring and shes fascinated watching the water change colour!
- At this age the little ones start to discover shapes and how things match and go in and out of things so prepare to need new toys haha! We now have a selection of first puzzles, cubes can put blocks in and out of and our stacking cups now get used to put toys in - super cute to watch them figure out what fits in what! They also love busting down towers as you build them haha Poppa probably built 20 in a row 😋
- Keep some of your fav clothes for your little one for when they have kids themselves as its such a heartfelt moment seeing your little mini in something you wore. Kinsley now fits a little playsuit that used to be mine and I LOVE seeing her in it!
- If you have a beautiful canopy in your babes room be prepared to dissapear it for a while around this age haha! Kinsley figured out how to pull and tug on it so we had to pop it away for when shes a bit older and replace with her super cute mobile.
