22.Flying.Pregnant.Sucks

Ok so I ended week 21 hopping on a plane to Sydney a little bit anxious to be without Nic, so an update on the whirlwind 48 hour trip... Flying while pregnant sucked! It didn't help that we had turbulence so the seat-belt sign was pretty much a light the WHOLE god damn flight, which I have now learned is every pregnant womens worst nightmare! My back, bladder and pelvis were screaming let me walk, and once I even had to beg to go toilet haha! It may have also been my mind knowing that little glowing symbol wouldn't turn off haha! Also skin dryness which occurs everytime you fly (hats off to my flightie gals who always seem to still look glowing!) but it was ten-fold worse to the point where on the way home I packed a mini tube of moisturiser and applied it after each hour guess thats my hormones I can thank! My small win was that I had no swelling wooo (well so I thought) little did I know that it would kick in 12 hours post flying haha so safe to say I had cankles but sore ones - Isn't pregnancy a beautiful thing?

Once over the ditch I had a nice trip, the weather was beautiful (like NZ summer) and I slept really well from being so exhausted and seeing the LEGO team was awesome! Come day two I felt so rundown that I spent the morning lazing in the hotel bed and then popped to the mall quickly before my flight to pick up an adorable pair of Hux Baby trackies but not the usual full on shop! Safe to say that little trip screwed me for days after and I'm sure it put babies body clock out also as she/he was wriggling at all hours.

I noticed this week that the way I am carrying has changed slightly, it feels like my belly/baby is sitting lower than it was. But by gosh its growing bigger (It surprises me how quickly it changes and I know I keep saying it but its simply amazing!) Clothes definitely down play its actual size so whenever I snap changes I show it off haha! To be honest I am most comfortable in trackies and a crop top or hood with the bump out as even a simple tee feels restrictive when covering it so my rule when I get home is now "Bra off, Hair Up, Bump Out" - Ladies will feel me even the non-preggers ones hehe!

On Saturday we spent some much needed quality time with Meeks, Kurt, Alf & Simon followed by a lovely dinner - So funny when organising it myself & Meeks were like if we start at 4:30pm and then have an early dinner us pregnant people wont be far off bed betime we are tired (9pm nowadays haha) oh how times have changed! Our future besties had their first snap together aka we had our first growing bump picture together and holey shit considering we are 6 days apart I actually look about 10 weeks ahead of her haha! I know I'm showing well but words cant explain how much it makes me laugh when I look at it and realise how much! (21w vs 22w - ??)

Something we have been starting to think about is names, we are hoping to have a few for each gender up our sleeve going into birth and then seeing what/who baby feels like when they arrive. But we do know it's something we have decided to keep a secret from our family & friends so we will all have a surprise gender but then we get to surprise our them with something :) Middle names are something we will more openly discuss when we have some ones we really like.

This week I have my next midwifes appointment - I look forward to these each month so can't wait! Over the coming appointments I will get Nic to come along and meet Brooke but at the moment there isn't much he would get out of them until it all ramps up haha (I'm sure he can't wait to talk about birth plans and how he will be involved hahahahah!)

Side notes this week:

- I can actually see my tummy move when baby kicks! Getting so strong internally some of them even hurt a little!

- Newest symptom is flushed red cheeks all the time, which isn't usual for me and the pregnancy heat waves roll in and out (adding to my already abnormally elevated temp, for those that know me well I am always hot so this is a whole other level!)

- I am now pretty much hungry all the time, which means that my morning sickness has kicked back in the AM as my tummy is empty but once I eat or have my hot lemon drink I am sorted.

- Apparently per-registering for daycare years in advance is a thing! WTF I haven't even given birth yet! Another thing ill add to the list of things to think about - its stacking up.

- Mum & Dad had a garage sale before the big move down to Ohakune and It was awesome I had to stop myself taking stuff as my house is too little, we popped up to see them and had a wee family BBQ and I ended up finding a couple of outfits that fit the bump! Jess had them in there for $3 so betime you take the family discount off they were free hahaha! #growingbumpwins
