The exciting thing this week was telling our immediate families the news, for the Hekkens side this will be the first grand-baby so you can only imagine the excitement from soon to be Nana, Poppa, Aunty Jess & Uncle Jay. Dad has already got in his head that there is a grandson in there and keeps calling him Marco like the shark, Bless. Mums baby box she has been adding to since who knows when has now been promoted from storage to the spare room wardrobe and baby already has its first hunting & fishing fleece - Gender neutral black haha!
We've also just given Aunty Just Jess cake orders for the next 21 years - Probono haha!
Something I find incredible and am super excited about is baby having great grand-parents - My little nan lived until she was 101 (so great genes there!) and I loved having her in our life. Not that my nana will look like a great nana AT ALL she cruises around in her nikes with iphone in hand - Too cute!
From the Fels side we had lots of little squeals and claps - Its such an exciting feeling letting people share happiness with you - But the best reaction goes to Sam squealing and giving me the biggest hug, I think we all forget that shes never felt what its like to be an Aunty like we all are for her beautiful boys and it means her (not so little) babies will have a cousin for Christmas!
Secretly I think they want it to be a girl as so far they don't have any grand-daughters - Bets are on! Looks like our tent upgrade will be happening before the next Summer Patau trip, not sure Aunty Caity & Uncle Haydn will love sharing with us anymore!
We made cute little wine bottles for the family with personalised labels - Which for now are kept a secret but no doubt will come to light when we go public. We just loved the thought of doing something a little different to break the news (its such a weird thing figuring out how to spit out Im pregnant haha). Ill need to practice for when we hit the 2nd trimester.
